Get blown away by more than 100 events, live glassblowing, and artist demos at Refract
By Sarah Stackhouse October 16, 2024

Refract is back. From Oct. 17-20, Refract: The Seattle Glass Experience will showcase the work of more than 70 glass artists at 100-plus events across the city.

The festivities kick off with Gather, the opening party at Chihuly Garden and Glass from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 17.
Throughout the festival, participating organizations including Pike Place Market, the Museum of Glass, Seattle Glassblowing Studio, Pratt Fine Arts Center, and many others will host exhibitions and live demonstrations, most of which are free and open to the public. Attendees can also check out a neon showcase at Pier 69, a free open house at the Seattle Art Museum, and special gallery exhibitions. There will be hands-on experiences, shuttle bus tours to open artist studios, and glass blowing demonstrations.
Featured artists include Dan Friday, a Lummi tribal member, and Kait Rhoads, who will showcase a large community project. Plus, Season 4 winner Morgan Peterson and other contestants from the Netflix series Blown Away will be showing off their skills throughout the weekend.
With more than 700 regional artists, Refract is the only glass festival of its kind. For visitors planning a weekend stay, 13 downtown hotels are offering exclusive packages.

Refract is created by Visit Seattle and Chihuly Garden and Glass. Now in its sixth year, the festival continues to draw both local and international attention. Get the full schedule and ticket details here.
